A Rainy Day Project & Boho Shirt

Today, it rained all day, and it was a seemingly long day.  I opened the windows and doors to let the breeze in and worked on some editing, and did a bit of sewing and crafting as well.
Yet, since I did not finish my current project, I will share my most  recent addition to Etsy.
This time a super cute Boho shirt made from vintage curtains!

When I saw these curtains, they seemed to have never have been used.  Instantly, I saw a boho 70's style top, accessorized with wood or a coronet.   So, eventually, I managed to get around to making it.  And now it is listed on Etsy! See More Pictures of this on Etsy

Glad to upcycle!

Day 8 of the 40 Day Design Challenge: Royal Princess Eloise and Printable Paper Dolls!

This is the size of a regular parasol, but designed for the little girl in all of us.  We choose to do a princess crown, and it reminds me of Miss Eloise (Moms & Grandmas, you may be familiar with this little rascal from the stories and movies.   Hand painted parasols, we are enjoying this line! Buy here!

You can view more pictures here in our etsy store.  Feel free to comment!  We love to hear from our readers.

Also, read further as we introduce our next featured guest!  Remember paper dolls?!  Classic and so much fun!  See below...

I love these paper dolls!  Grandma used to buy me paper dolls, and I would spend hours playing with them!  They are excellent quiet activities!   Be sure to stop by and visit Katie at 17 Maple Ave.

Day 4 of the 40 Day Design Challenge: Lavender Rose and a Photographer who catches Daydreams

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose.

Again featuring the Artistic Talent of my sis-in-law, Abbie!
Freehand, again, and it looks like it could waltz right off the paper?

See it on Etsy!

Heidi catches daydreams, or so it seems to me! Each of her photo sessions have a dream like quality, as if, from another world, where each picture seems real enough to touch and yet etherical!

Day 3 of the 40 Day Design Challenge: Icy Fleur de Lis, and a Gal who turns Trash to Treasure!

Well, this is the very first reveal [official reveal] of our new artistic parasol line!
Yes, you are seeing correctly, this is a hand painted Fleur de Lis, painted by my very talented sister-in-law, Abbie.
She did this freehand, an image from her mind! Stay tuned for more in this series!

How does this happen?  After Abbie draws the design, I match trim and lace to the colors and general artistic feel of her artwork.  We work off each other's suggestions, and I have to admit, we celebrate when it was completed! Typically, we celebrate by making some crazy, exciting, spicy noodle dish!
{And yes, these are waterproof! Just think a parasol for sun AND rain!}  Buy here
